We’re the competition

On November 12, TVLive’s Michael Ausiello posted an article announcing that Days of Our Lives had released the cast from their contracts.

In his article, Days of our Lives cast let go, but soap not canceled, Mr. Ausiello states “While the NBC sudser has not been canceled, the unprecedented — and decidedly ominous — move comes at a precarious time for ratings-challenged “Days” and the vanishing soap genre as a whole.”

Televised soaps may be fading due to the drop in ratings, but Restless Shores is going strong at an international level.

Like I said before, it’s the platform, not the art.

I suspect that the remaining daytime soaps have heard about us by now; after all Restless Shores is the competition. I would not be surprised to see Days attempt to restructure as a podcast.
